The Sharjah Economic Excellence Award (SEEA) Office has announced that it has recently hosted an introductory seminar about the 10th Cycle of the Award to kick off an information drive about the benefits of SEEA in the business community. Held recently at the SCCI premises with Dr. Lway Nakhasha, a leading consultant in quality and organizational excellence, as the main speaker, the seminar discussed the adoption of European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) in SEEA and also included a special workshop that provided pointers on how to win the SEEA.
SEEA further revealed that corporate CEOs, general managers, senior managers, quality managers, marketing managers, consultants and managers who wish to become SEEA Award Assessors attended the seminar, along with SEEA sponsors and supporting organizations who conducted exclusive exhibitions of their products and services. The SEEA, which is being organized by the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), recognizes companies operating in Sharjah’s manufacturing, trade, service, tourism, financial, free zone companies and other sectors and provides them with a roadmap for their journey for excellence.
Nada Al Hajri, SEEA General Coordinator, SCCI, said: “The workshop discussed important points pertaining to the Sharjah Economic Excellence Award and helped participants enhance their potential to win an award. We prepared key topics and interactive discussions that offered exclusive insights into the process of selecting the SEEA winners and how the award can drive the value of any company or brand. The seminar is part of our greater mission to support the growth of companies operating in Sharjah and ultimately create a healthy and vibrant business environment.”
The topics that were covered by the seminar include “The key benefits of Sharjah Economic Excellence Award (SEEA)”, “How will SEEA help your brand?”, “Why SEEA is the Right Award for your Organization?”, “What are the main Criteria of the Award?”, “How to apply for SEEA?”, “What are the Key dates?”, and “What if you need help on the Way?” SCCI also announced that it will organize similar seminars to be held at the Sharjah International Airport Free Zone and Al Hamriyah Free Zone.
The 10th SEEA Cycle is of great importance as it is based on new international standards under the cooperative agreement signed with EFQM, a global not-for-profit membership foundation based in Brussels, Belgium. EFQM has more than 500 members across over 55 countries, providing a unique platform for organizations to improve performance.
The Sharjah Economic Excellence Award is one of SCCI’s leading initiatives. It aims to improve economic conditions and help Chamber members reinforce their presence within the business community as well as achieve corporate excellence through the adoption of the highest standards of quality and best practices. Recognizing the community’s efforts and achievements to promote comprehensive development across the Emirate, SEEA has managed in the past few years to establish itself as a reliable indicator of the progress attained by local companies and the prospects for the future.
