Ruler Of Sharjah Announces Social And Health Insurance For Citizens

Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services to be Established


 

His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, announced the implementation of a social insurance plan that will initially cover low-income Sharjah nationals in addition to the provision of health insurance to all UAE nationals in the emirate.

The announcement came during his call-in conversation on talk show ‘Al Khat Al Mubasher’ aired on Sharjah Radio and Television. He highlighted that social insurance will provide a steady income to people with low-income who use up their entire salary to meet their day-to-day needs. Pointing out that the health of his people remains a key priority, His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah said that the new health insurance policy will ensure that Sharjah citizens can avail treatment within and outside the UAE.

His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah additionally announced the construction of Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services, a high-profile project that will be managed in line with international standards and equipped with the latest technology and infrastructure.

Staffed with specialists in niche sectors, it will cater to the specific needs of the citizens. An Autism centre will feature as a key speciality at the Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services. Furthermore, a new centre for autism will be built in Khor Fakkan while the existing facilities in Kalba and Weshah will be upgraded.

His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi has directed the concerned institutions to prepare a list of citizens in Sharjah, which will offer insights into the standard of living of each individual. Furthermore, he has instructed to begin communication with UAE nationals in the emirate who have not received commercial or industrial land.

His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah said: "Each of my citizens, who have not received commercial or industrial land, will be provided with a plot. The initiative will largely benefit the community as a whole and not just the individuals. We are aware that our people shy away from asking for help. Therefore, it becomes essential for us to identify them and ensure their needs are met.”

As part of his efforts to safeguard the interests of his citizens, His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah keenly follows ‘Al Khat Al Mubasher’, which helps him to gain an understanding of their concerns. He additionally takes the initiative to reach out to the community and offer solutions to their issues through the programme.

During his call, His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi stressed that education is essential for personal progress and reaffirmed his commitment to provide the best possible education for his children in the emirate. Moreover, His Highness assured that the model schools project will be implemented before the beginning of the new academic year, and commended the efforts of His Excellency Humaid Al Qatami, Minister of Education in forming a committee to oversee the ‘Model Schools Initiative’.
