76 companies in Sharjah’s Hamriyah Free Zone win the Superbrands 2018 Awards
76 companies operating in the Hamriyah Free Zone have won various categories of the Superbrands UAE 2018 Award, which is awarded by the prestigious Superbrands Worldwide organization, an independent authority that specializes in assessing and highlighting branding excellence around the world. The number of companies operating in the Hamriyah Free Zone that won the award increased by 230% in 2018 when compared to the previous year, when 23 companies operating in the Hamriyah Free Zone won the award.
This group of winners were announced during an official ceremony held recently at the headquarters of the Hamriyah Free Zone Authority, which was attended by HE Saud Salim Al Mazrouei, Director of Hamriyah Free Zone Authority (HZFA) and Sharjah Airport International Free Zone Authority, and representatives from Superbrands UAE, as well as a number of senior officials and employees from the Hamriyah Free Zone Authority, and representatives of the companies that operate in the Hamriyah Free Zone.
HE Saud Salim Al Mazrouei, Director of Hamriyah Free Zone Authority (HZFA) and
Sharjah Airport International Free Zone Authority, stated that the large number of companies that have won the Superbrands UAE Award represents a new achievement for the authority, as well as a clear indication of the free zone’s leadership as one of the fastest growing free zones in the Middle East.
HE Saud Salim Al Mazrouei highlighted the authority’s keenness to continue to build on this renewed achievement, which helps to supports the policy of economic diversification adopted by Sharjah in accordance to the wise vision of His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, which aims to promote sustainable economic growth in Sharjah and to enhance the competitiveness of the UAE in order achieve the UAE Vision 2021 and the UAE Centennial 2071.
Al Mazrouei stated that the authority congratulated the companies that won the Superbrands Award, and praised their efforts that resulted in this honour, as well as their keenness to observe the highest international standards in the field of quality and excellence.
The 76 companies operating in the Hamriyah Free Zone won the Superbrands Award after being selected from a list put together by the Superbrands Council, which comprised of more than 10,000 brands in the UAE. After being selected from the list, the companies were then evaluated through an online poll that included the participation of over 2000 senior managers and marketing professionals.
During the ceremony, a presentation was held to discuss the standards of the Superbrands Award, which adheres to strict standards and is supervised by a number of international judges known for their excellence in the fields of management and marketing. The presentation also featured a review of the Superbrands book, which highlights the best brands in the UAE.
The Hamriyah Free Zone Authority has won a variety of awards for its sterling performance, which include “the UAE’s Superbrands Award – 2017 & 2018”; “the Arabian Business Excellence Awards 2017”; “the BIZZ - Business Excellence Award”; “the International Business Excellence Awards” and “the FDI Free Zone of the Year Awards – 2017” for Large Tenants, Start-Up Support, Facilities Upgrade and Red Tape Reduction Categories.
